We've now given 1,820,208 lunches to Kiwi kids.

our Story

We are the catering choice that makes a big difference. Every product you Buy, we Give a lunch to a Kiwi kid in need. We call it Buy One Give One.

It’s a little gesture that’s had a great impact on so many Kiwi kids. With 1 in 4 Kiwi kids living in poverty it's a little gesture with great impact. Our Give schools (circa x80) are in Auckland and Wellington.

Eat My Lunch is also a supplier of the government-funded lunch initiative (Ka Ora, Ka Ako Healthy School Lunches programme). You can learn more about the difference models here.

Our customer product range has adapted over the years too, offering not only healthy lunches, but salads, morning and afternoon teas, and grazing boxes in lots of dietary types to homes and businesses all over Auckland. And now a range of gift boxes to suit every day gift giving and corporate customers as well!

"To ensure that no child at school goes hungry, starting with kids right here in our own backyard."

Lisa King and Michael Meredith’s mission in 2015 was to ensure that no child at school goes hungry. This mission remains the same today.

Not only does this simple gesture put smiles on kids faces and generate food security, 62% of schools saw improved attendance, 69% saw improved behaviour and 89% saw an improvement in student health & wellbeing.

Since we first open our doors in 2015, our customers and volunteers have helped generate 1.8 million healthy school lunches via our Buy One Give One programme.  But we still have much to do with a waiting list of Auckland and Wellington schools.

what our schools say

“Hi there, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you for all you are doing for the kids of New Zealand. I am a teacher at a primary school in Otara, this week we have given out 6 of your lunches to students in my class. They are pretty honest about why they don’t have lunch “We don’t have much food in the cupboards at the moment”, “My dad says if I have breakfast I’ll be ok until I get home”, “My dad doesn’t get paid until Wednesday”. I even have children who are kept home from school because their parents have no lunch to send with them. It breaks my heart. So thank you, Thank you for filling my kids tummies, for helping them stay focused in their learning and for making them smile. I think your team at Eat My Lunch are amazing.”

a note from the gm

We wanted to alleviate a nationwide issue by creating change through corporate catering. From the heart-warming response we’ve received it’s official – Kiwis really do love to help!

Everyone involved with Eat My Lunch is giving. From the Kiwis who buy a lunch, to the many volunteers who give up their time to make, pack and deliver the kid’s lunches. The generosity of everyday Kiwis getting behind Eat My Lunch has been overwhelming – driving us to do more and feed even more hungry Kiwi kids.

thank you for choosing to make a difference,
